Kyndryl has been awarded a two-year contract during which the company’s zCloud services will provide business continuity for DVLA’s services.

DVLA has an ongoing programme to modernise its existing systems. Kyndryl, the world’s largest IT infrastructure services provider, said continuity of mainframe services during this transformation will be critical to its success.

“Kyndryl is honoured to be able to continue our successful collaboration with the DVLA. By collaborating to achieve successful business transformation and continuity, we’re proud to help the DVLA with its goals of becoming a dynamic digital organisation and a great place to work, keeping customers and citizens at the centre of every decision,” said John Chambers, Kyndryl UK & Ireland president.

Kyndryl revealed in September that it would manage a proportion of HMRC’s mainframe services while Kyndryl Consult will undertake discovery work to prepare for cloud migration and modernisation.

Elsewhere, Scrumconnect Consulting has been named as a supplier on Crown Commercial Service’s (CCS) Cloud Compute 2 framework as part of Lot 3 – Professional Services.

Scrumconnect will provide professional services to help public sector organisations develop their cloud strategies as they migrate from legacy systems. The firm will also offer change management and training services to empower new ways of working.

“We’re delighted to be accepted onto the Cloud Compute 2 framework, as we continue to deliver transformational change to the UK public sector,” said Praveen Karadiguddi, CEO at Scrumconnect Consulting.

Scrummconnect currently supports 16 of the CDDO’s (Central Digital & Data Office) top 75 government services, including His Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS), the Home Office, the Department for Education, and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

MSP Node4 has secured a place on the CCS Cloud Compute 2 framework, being named a supplier for Lot 1: Core Services and Lot 3: Professional Services.
