DWP Digital has announced the appointment of its new Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO), Richard (Rich) Corbridge.
He replaces Simon McKinnon, who announced plans to retire last year and officially stepped down recently.

In a blog post, DWP Digital said Corbridge’s “skills, experience, and track record of leading teams in delivering innovation and transformation will keep us moving forward on our digital journey.
“We’re thankful to Simon McKinnon for his leadership over the last four years, and for delaying his retirement so that we can recruit the right person for the next stage in our journey.”

Corbridge was previously CIO at Boots and CDIO at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
The organisation noted that McKinnon led the department through “an incredibly complex digital transformation, overseeing the switch from outsourcing IT contracts to moving these in-house.
“We are excited to see Rich’s journey as CDIO and his plans to shape the digital strategy for DWP Digital moving forward.”
The job posting noted that DWP has around 4,500 digital, data and technology professionals. The CDIO brief also comes with a responsibility to manage an annual IT budget of £1.4 billion and to support one of Europe’s largest IT estates operating across 850 buildings and 90,000 desktops.
