Identity verification company Digidentity signs agreement with Adobe in response to increased demand for electronic signatures

Identity verification company Digidentity has signed a resale agreement with Adobe. The deal will strengthen its position outside its core markets of the UK and The Netherlands.

The agreement enables Adobe to resell Digidentity’s Advanced and Qualified Electronic signatures as part of the Adobe Sign service offering.

Digidentity says the global health crisis has increased demand for electronic signatures as organisations used online verification to continue remote transactions and agreements.

“We continue to work extensively with both the UK and Dutch governments in the area of eID. We have provided digital identities to millions of users and we add thousands of users onto our platform every day,” Marcel Wendt, CTO and founder of Digidentity told Think Digital Partners.

Utilising its Remote Identification (Advanced and Qualified) assurance service, Digidentity says the onboarding process that can be completed within minutes. This includes real-time remote registration and a self-service portal to manage account lifecycles and invite users.

MyIdentity scheme for housing market

Global software giant Adobe is one of the biggest suppliers of electronic signatures. With the integration of Digidentity within Adobe, clients can start signing their documents with Advanced (AES) or Qualified (QES) signatures on their existing contract.

“The government eID landscape continues to evolve and we are working closely with various departments to develop new services,” said Wendt. “For example, we have been working with HMLR and various other stakeholders in developing a new eID scheme for the private sector home buying and selling market; MyIdentity,  where we will participate in the pilot for the new scheme starting in October.

“QES will be a logical extension of this project and it is a subject that HMLR has been addressing recently by developing guidelines on the use of electronic signatures for property transactions,” said Wendt.

“Importantly perhaps, the signatures and the signed document are also legally binding in court. With the new Adobe agreement in place, an Adobe user or using company can easily extend their services with our qualified signatures and get their invoice against the same billing credentials.”

“We are very pleased to simplify the buying experience for our customers by offering the ability to purchase Advanced and Qualified digital certificates from Digidentity as part of their Adobe contract.” said Alex Hayward, senior director, international product marketing & GTM, Adobe.

“Customers can use Digidentity to streamline e-signing experiences with cloud signatures, helping ensure that each signer’s identity is fully verified and authenticated.”
