A major boost for the UK Cybersecurity conversation

Think Digital Partners ends the year with exciting news: a new conference stream in a vital part of the Digital Economy

Think Digital Partners, the company behind such highly successful events as Think Digital Government but which is probably best known for its on-going Think Digital Identity For Government conference programme, is now extending its coverage into a whole new area: IT security.

Specifically, Friday, 24th April next year will see doors open on a new conference in the roster – Think Cybersecurity For Government 2020.

Featuring experts and stakeholders from both the public and private arenas, the idea is to build bridges across this government-vendor ecosystem and present a snap-shot to the busy public sector decision maker on what’s really important on the interface between Cybersecurity and them.

Keynote speakers and panel sessions are quickly being identified, but confirmed sessions already include guidance from independent IT advisory group GlobalData on ‘Building a people-centric security culture through behaviour change.’

Respected security expert Susan Morrow is also an early scheduled speaker, all set to give us her insights into how to reconcile IT legacy problems with the Cyber challenge, as well as many more fascinating sessions.

Already confirmed as a partner is the world’s largest non-profit membership association of certified cybersecurity professionals, (ISC)2.

Commenting on his organisation’s support for the show, Chris Green, its Head of PR and Communications – EMEA, noted that, “Cybersecurity has never been a bigger issue for government than it is today, something underpinned by the government’s commitment to funding the creation of the UK Cyber Security Council.

“Professionalising the industry and improving training and education opportunities for the Cybersecurity workforce is essential to closing the skills gap and addressing the constant challenge posed by cybersecurity threats.

“At Think Cybersecurity For Government 2020, we will be discussing the implications of the skills gap, and will be speaking about how digital transformation, IoT and the cloud are creating new challenges for Cybersecurity professionals.”

“The decision to launch a specific Cybersecurity conference stream has been taken after the subject just came up too many times with the senior public sector IT professionals we dialogue with over the course of the past year,” confirmed Matt Stanley, Director of Think Digital Partners and main organiser of the new event.

“At our last Identity conference many senior officials from across government asked if we’d run a similar event in the Cybersecurity space, as they felt our format and high level of content would really benefit Cyber professionals across the sector.

“It’s also clear that there is crossover with issues in Digital ID, but we felt it wasn’t enough to try and address all of that in the Identity stream.

“We’re really pleased with the immediately highly positive reaction of the marketplace to our announcement, with delegates registering at a pace before we even pushed the website live and enquiries about ways for commercial organisations to participate.

“Please feel free to contact me on matt.stanley@thinkdigitalpartners.com to find out more – we’d be delighted to help.”

As with all Think Digital Partners events, your place is FREE if you are a qualified public sector professional – go here to find out more.

We also genuinely recommend securing your place nice and early, even though it’s probably a busy last week of the year for you, as we don’t want to disappoint anyone and seat space is necessarily limited.

So – see you in April?
