Kantara Initiative is a global community focussed on improving the trustworthy use of identity and personal data. We have multiple Work Groups that explore innovation, standardization and develop good practice around the collection, storage, and use of personal identity information.
Our membership community nurtures thought leadership, ground-breaking R&D and develops specifications that will create and maintain a trustworthy identity ecosystem.
Our Work Groups concentrate on informing policy and standards on topics as wide ranging as AI and Deepfakes, Resilient Identifiers for Underserved Populations (RIUP). Privacy Enhancing Mobile Credentials (PEMC) and Anchored Notice and Consent Receipt (ANCR). New groups are regularly formed to consider emerging issues and members are encouraged to put forward topics of interest for discussion
We offer identity assurance audits across multiple jurisdictions, including in the US and UK. Organisations that need to be certified in multiple markets benefit from our consistent approach to assurance. Our tailored, modular approach to certification supports the uniqueness of each service and organisation. This is fundamental to building an interoperable identity ecosystem.
Our global assessment program audits companies and their products for conformance against the NIST 800-63 suite of guidelines for digital identity. We are the only organisation to offer third-party conformity assessment against these guidelines.
In the UK, we are the authorised partner of DSIT to certify IDSPs under the Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework (DIATF). Our auditors are dedicated specialists in cybersecurity, privacy and digital identity and are highly qualified in trust framework audits across multiple sectors and jurisdictions.
