In a bid to enhance and accelerate local government automation, Netcall, a provider of intelligent automation and customer engagement software, has acquired revenues and benefits automation specialist Govtech.

The acquisition will extend Netcall’s presence in the local government sector. The company plans to integrate Govtech’s solutions into its Liberty platform, to streamline income collection processes across revenues and benefits, housing, and social care.

Govtech’s platform handles approximately 30 million transactions annually, achieving up to 80 percent automation for 47 councils. This, it said, results in productivity savings with up to 50 percent increased efficiency in revenues and benefits teams, better citizen service, and faster service delivery.

Netcall aims to leverage Govtech capabilities such as AI-enhanced citizen experience technology, chatbots, RPA, and rapid application development.

“Govtech is a unique business with a highly experienced workforce and quality service offering, making it a trusted partner to numerous local councils in the UK,” said Netcall CEO James Ormondroyd. “This acquisition significantly expands our presence in the local government sector and strengthens our product proposition. We are excited about the opportunities to extend offers to customers through integration with our existing suite of Liberty solutions. We look forward to welcoming the Govtech team to Netcall and are optimistic about our future growth prospects.”

“Many of our professionals come from revenue and benefit backgrounds and bring first-hand experience to develop essential solutions for councils,” added Govtech managing director, Andrew Melvin. “The acquisition by Netcall is exciting as it allows us the ability to work with new, like-minded colleagues who have the same passion for customer success. We will gain a dynamic partner through which we can continue our success and offer our customers a market-leading combination of intelligent automation and customer engagement solutions.”
