With only a few days to go before we congregate in Westminster for the next Think Digital Identity for Government conference on Tuesday October 10th, we thought we would catch up with some of the events commercial partners to find out what they are looking forward too about getting in the room with our excellent government identity practitioner audience.

Jim Slevin, Regional Director at Inverid

We spoke with Jim Slevin, regional director at Inverid who will be reflecting on their past 10 years of delivering government identity programmes at next weeks conference. Inverid are a regular supporter of this conference and enjoy a strong relationship with the UK Government.

Hi Jim, so what are you looking forward to about Think Digital Identity for Government and meeting the UK government teams?

We really enjoy this government focused conference and the excellent level of delegates that it attracts. We especially enjoy face-to-face meeting wherever possible which remains critically valuable, especially in an arena where trust is so vital to success. We also relish the opportunity to listen, learn and interact with experts on the day and build those import new relationships with potential customers and partners.

Without giving too much away, can you give us a little hint on what you might be covering in your session at Think Digital Identity for Government?

As Inverid celebrates its 10-year anniversary we will reflect on successful objectives delivery in public sector identity programme and schemes. Our reflection will cover both the successes and challenges in meeting goals, requirements and end-user experience in both direct programmes and arms-length trust schemes.

And finally, as a supplier what would you like to see the government focus on over the next 12 months regarding digital identity initiatives?

  1. Royal Assent for associated bill and increasing the robustness of the DIATF.
  2. Continued roll-out at pace of One Login for public sector services.
  3. Communication of the necessary clear separation between surveillance and verification of identity to ensure citizen trust in identity is not eroded.
  4. Cohesive and consistent design principles and framework for a future ‘digital first’ identity structure for public sector bodies and services (i.e. Passport, Driving License, Residency and central and local public sector services).

We look forward to hearing more insight from Jim and the Inverid team on October the 10th. You can still register for the conference here.
