Latest headlines from our content partner 'Government Computing'The House of Commons Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has strongly criticised the government’s performance in its setting up of shared service centres which were set up to deliver cost savings to the public purse.

The PAC said a failure to set up effective governance at the outset of the shared services programme “has had long-term consequences” while the absence of a realistic business case also undermined the programme’s chances of success.

The Cabinet Office also failed to secure sufficient buy-in from departments, the spending watchdog found.
